Short Story 978 – A Day At The Beach (Int)

It was a sunny Saturday morning. Sarah woke up early and looked outside. The sky was blue and clear. She called her brother Tom.
“Tom, let’s go to the beach today!” she said.

Tom smiled. “That is a great idea! I will pack the bag.”

They put towels, sunscreen and some sandwiches in a bag. Then they took the bus to the beach.

When they arrived, the sand felt warm under their feet and the sea looked calm. They put their things down near the water and ran in. The water was cool and refreshing. They swam for a long time and then rested on the sand.

After that, they walked along the shore and collected shells. Sarah found a smooth white shell. Tom found a large shell with an interesting shape. They put the shells carefully in the bag.

At midday, they sat down and ate their sandwiches. They drank water from their bottles and watched the waves move in and out.

In the afternoon, they decided to build a sandcastle. They used their hands to make towers and walls. They put the shells on top to decorate it. The sandcastle looked strong and tall.

As the day came to an end, the sun went down slowly. The sky filled with soft light. Sarah and Tom sat side by side and watched the sunset together.

“This was a wonderful day,” said Sarah.

“Yes,” said Tom. “We must come back another time.”

They packed everything and caught the bus home. Both of them felt tired but very happy.

That was a perfect day at the beach.
