Short Story 32 – The Mugging

It was a dark and quiet night. The kind of night that makes you want to stay indoors and never leave. But for John, it was just another night on his way back from work.

He had been working late at the office, trying to finish up some work before the deadline. And tonight, he finally had a breakthrough.

As he was walking down the street, he noticed a man standing in the shadows. He was wearing a black hoodie and had his face covered with a mask.

John tried to ignore him and walked past him. But as he got closer, he realized that he was being followed.

He started to walk faster, but the man caught up with him and grabbed him from behind. John screamed for help, but no one was around to hear him.

The man pulled out a knife and held it against John’s throat. “Give me your wallet, phone, and watch,” he said.

John knew he had no choice but to comply. He handed over his wallet, phone, and watch to the mugger.

The mugger then ran away into the darkness, leaving John alone and shaken.

John went to the police station to report the incident. The police investigated the case but were unable to find any leads on the mugger.

John knew that he would never forget that night. It was a night that changed his life forever.

The end
