Short Story 20 – The Magic Pencil

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Alice who loved to draw. She would draw pictures of everything she saw, from her family and friends to the animals in the forest.

One day, Alice was drawing in the park when she saw a strange old man. The man was sitting on a bench, and he was holding a pencil. The pencil was glowing.

“That’s a beautiful drawing,” the old man said.

“Thank you,” Alice said. “I love to draw.”

“I can see that,” the old man said. “Would you like to have a magic pencil?”

“A magic pencil?” Alice asked. “What’s that?”

“It’s a pencil that can make anything you draw come to life,” the old man said. “But be careful what you wish for.”

Alice was excited. She had always wanted to make her drawings come to life. She took the pencil from the old man and started to draw.

She drew a picture of a beautiful flower. The flower came to life and started to bloom. Alice was so happy. She drew a picture of a bird. The bird came to life and started to sing. Alice was even happier.

Alice drew many more things with the magic pencil. She drew a picture of a house. The house came to life and became her new home. She drew a picture of a car. The car came to life and took her wherever she wanted to go.

Alice was having so much fun with the magic pencil that she forgot to be careful. She drew a picture of a dragon. The dragon came to life and started to breathe fire. Alice was scared. She didn’t know what to do.

The dragon chased Alice through the forest. Alice ran as fast as she could, but the dragon was faster. Just when it seemed like the dragon was going to catch her, Alice remembered the old man’s words. She drew a picture of a cage. The cage came to life and trapped the dragon.

Alice was safe. She had learned her lesson. She would be more careful with the magic pencil from now on.

Alice lived happily ever after with her magic pencil. She used it to make her dreams come true, but she always remembered to be careful what she wished for.
